Community Economic Relief Fund
Donors visit communities served by Fund
In August, Foundation donors met on Saint Paul’s east side for a front-lines look at efforts that are helping vulnerable individuals and families experiencing hardship due to the economy. Activities included:
- Guest speakers from nonprofit organizations working in the areas of financial counseling and home ownership and foreclosure prevention.
- A visit to the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood, an area particularly affected by the foreclosure crisis and working hard to turn the situation around.
- A tour of a local food bank that serves the Metro Area and Greater Minnesota
Organizations included in the site visits were Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota, Minnesota Home Ownership Center, Dayton’s Bluff Neighborhood Housing Services and Second Harvest Heartland.
