More than 75 Years of caring for community
The Saint Paul Foundation believes that communities themselves are in the best position to articulate priorities, and that today’s most pressing issues require collaborative and innovative approaches. To that end, we offer a variety of grant programs to meet the need of the diverse community of nonprofits that serve our region. Our work is also work is rooted in a commitment to racial equity that honors Saint Paul's many cultures in an effort to strengthen community participation and connectedness.
Our Grant Opportunities
Building Community Capacity
Building Community Capacity grants are designed to be broadly responsive to community-identified priorities for residents in Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties.
The Saint Paul Foundation seeks grant requests across six areas of community vitality.
Community Sharing Fund
The Community Sharing Fund was established in 1980 to meet the community’s need for emergency assistance. The Fund partners with more than 100 community organizations to identify families and individuals facing short-term financial setbacks to help protect their long-term self-sufficiency.
Diversity Endowment Funds
The Diversity Endowment Funds include the Asian Pacific Endowment, El Fondo de Nuestra Comunidad, the Pan African Community Endowment and Two Feathers Endowment. These community-led funds are informed by, and benefit, specific racial and cultural groups in the East Metro.
Management Improvement Fund
The Management Improvement Fund is dedicated to strengthening the internal operations of organizations. Grants are now available statewide thanks to support from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation.
