Strong partnerships, strong community
Community Initiatives go beyond traditional grantmaking. Collaboration and strong partnerships are the hallmark of these multifaceted efforts. Community Initiatives allow the Foundation to support innovative and responsive programs that directly serve people in our community.
The Foundation is currently involved in a number of initiatives.
Community Sharing Fund
The Community Sharing Fund was established in 1980 to meet the community’s need for emergency assistance. The Fund partners with more than 100 community organizations to identify families and individuals facing short-term financial setbacks to help protect their long-term self-sufficiency.
Management Improvement Fund
The Management Improvement Fund is dedicated to strengthening the internal operations of organizations. Grants are now available statewide thanks to support from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation.
